What happens if one of the volunteers refuses to complete the AODA training?
Posted by on 21 February 2012 08:51 AM

The training is a mandatory legal requirement of the government of Ontario. If the volunteer does not want to complete the AODA training online, then there may be the option of a paper based training tool for distribution.

We realize it is one more thing that the volunteers must do, however, compliance with the AODA is a statutory requirement for every business and organization within Ontario. If the volunteer chooses to not complete the training with us, the training will eventually have to be done within another business or organization. Therefore, it is best to complete the training with Special Olympics Ontario and no longer worry about it!

Volunteers should be aware that if they have completed the training elsewhere, (or with us) and can show us the certificate with a clear indication that the training was successfully completed then they do not have to re-do the training. Please keep in mind that valid contact information should be visible on the certificate (Ex. full name, date of completion etc.).
