Here are a few fundraising ideas:

The success of the raffle relies on the donated prizes. You can give away a few smaller prizes or one big one.  The prize should be something that people want. A license must be obtained and signed by Special Olympics Ontario directors. More information will be detailed later in this handbook.

Silent Auctions

Silence auctions are effective yet involve time and effort. To keep cost low, ask public or local businesses to donate items. In exchange of donated items, offer businesses free publicity during your event and in marketing materials.

“A-thons” are a great way to involve athletes, local supporters and corporations in community fundraising initiatives. There are no limits to the type of “a-thon” fundraiser organizers can create and execute. Walk-a-thons, bike-a-thons, swim-a-thons and skate-a-thons are just come creative and engaging ideas.

Barbecues allow for effortless conversations and opportunities to network.  You can discuss fundraising ideas while eating delicious food! Associating with a large store can be beneficial in helping to drive customers. They may help with costs involved.
